ENTRY #005: It's Been A While
DATE POSTED: September 3 2003

Considering this is the first update in months, there have been quite a few updates. The album title "Far Away" has been changed to "The Life and Mind of Desparity." I have always wanted to change the album title since I first decided on Far Away. Far Away seemed too boring, and I wanted a title that had some power and meaning to it. The album title "The Life and Mind of Desparity" came out of nowhere one day in June, but it was the obvious choice as the tracks on the album support either having a life of desparity, or a mind of desparity. Thus the title. The tracklisting is finalized. I can say that I am pretty confident that the tracklisting will not change as I am very satisfied how the tracks came together on the album. The album is estimated to be around 60 minutes long. On the last update, I mentioned "I Won't Know You Anymore" and "Far Away" have a strong chance of losing their spot on the album. Both of them have been removed from the tracklisting, and Never Look Back has been added. A slew of new songs has been written since "The Life and Mind of Desparity" has been completed lyrically. These new songs will be a part of the second album, which is currently titled "In Reverse." There is a small chance that I may change that title, but I'm quite satisfied with it, unlike Far Away. "That Girl" has been renamed to "Togetherness Foreverness," and "Taken From Afar" has been renamed to "Something From Afar." The title "Something From Afar" came about when I was talking about the song to someone, and I couldn't quite remember the name. I knew it was "something" from afar, and somehow I actually liked that name better. Both of those songs will be released as b-sides on "The Life and Mind of Desparity" Singles.

Finally, Insidious Frustration has opened our new recording studio. On August 16, we dubbed a second floor room of a house "The Hotbox," which will probably be the site in which we begin recording the songs for "The Life and Mind of Desparity." Unfortunately that won't be for a while. In the meantime, we have been practicing playing instruments and such to prepare sometime in the far future for a gig or something. We really meant this music to be a "dedication to music." Now we really have high hopes for something to come out of this. More work has been put into this music than we had ever expected.

Too much information for one day. Have a good day.
